Privacy Policy — Deenius

This privacy policy describes how the Deenius application handles data during your use. Our guiding principle: all your data stays on your device. We have no server that collects your information.

1. Data collected and stored locally

Deenius stores the following information only on your iOS device (and in the container shared with the app's widgets):

  • Your location: used locally to calculate prayer times and the direction of the Qibla. You can choose a city manually rather than using GPS.
  • Your preferences: calculation method, school of jurisprudence, prayer naming convention, favorite mosque, appearance theme, language.
  • Your notification reminders: configured via Apple iOS system, managed locally.
  • Your spiritual progress: chosen objectives, daily check-ins, favorite surahs, personal notes, memorization statuses.
  • Your app selections for blocking (Focus Mode): stored via Apple's Family Controls framework, never transmitted off your device.

None of this data is sent to Deenius or any third party. It stays in the app's sandbox and is deleted upon uninstallation.

2. Data NOT collected

Deenius does not collect:

  • Your identity (name, email, phone)
  • Your contacts
  • Your usage habits (no third-party analytics like Google Analytics, Firebase, Mixpanel, etc.)
  • Your payment data (payments are handled entirely by Apple via StoreKit)
  • Your usage logs of apps blocked by Focus Mode

3. System permissions requested

The application requests the following permissions:

  • Location (« When using the app »): to calculate your prayer times and the direction of the Qibla. You can decline and enter your city manually.
  • Notifications: to remind you of prayer times and significant religious events (Ramadan, Eid…). You can disable them at any time.
  • Family Controls / Screen Time: for the Focus Mode that blocks apps of your choice during defined windows (around prayers, time range, or manual session). Your selections stay local.

4. Premium subscription

The Premium tier is handled via Apple In-App Purchase / StoreKit. Apple processes the entire transaction. Deenius never receives your payment data, identity, or billing address. Apple only transmits an « active / inactive » status to us to verify that you are entitled to Premium features.

You can manage or cancel your subscription at any time from: iOS Settings → your Apple ID → Subscriptions.

5. External links

The application may open Safari to:

  • Read the full tafsir of a verse (Quran.com)
  • Submit a module suggestion (Tally form)

These third-party sites have their own privacy policies that we invite you to consult.

6. Children

The application is designed for the general public (4+) and is not specifically directed at children. No particular collection is made regarding minors.

7. Changes to this policy

If we modify this policy, the new version will be published in the application and on the hosting page. The « Last updated » date at the top will be refreshed.
